- Topgrading: How to Hire, Coach and Keep A Players by Brad and Geoff Smart: A rigorous approach to assessing your team, continuous recruiting, and exhaustive screening, interviewing, and reference check tactics.
- How to Hire A-Players by Eric Herrenkohl: Helps you adopt an always be hiring mindset, and walks you through a process of defining what your A-Player(s) look like and how to find, interview, and hire them.

- Notes on the Hiring and Selection Process: This oldie but goodie from the early 90s gives you the framework to develop both holistic job profiles and candidate profiles based on background and personal factors – well worth the $6.95 for the downloadable PDF on HBR’s website.
- Hire on a WHIM by Garrett Miller: This book profoundly takes you through the process of interviewing and hiring candidates for the non-teachable (and non-negotiable) qualities of work ethic, humility, integrity, and maturity.
- CareerBuilder’s The Hiring Site: Regular content on recruiting and hiring from one of the world’s largest job boards, including this interview of Garrett Miller: Before Selling Candidates On the Job, Sell Them Out of the Job First.
- Use the Two-question Whole-Brain Interview to Assess Everything: Post on ERE.net’s blog by Lou Adler on an approach to phone screening and interviewing in such a way that mitigates biases within a hiring manager and hiring team.
- ERE.net – Recruiting Intelligence. Recruiting Community: Become a regular visitor or subscriber to this fast-paced source of content on recruiting, hiring, and talent management.
